Just Video Contest 2012

Rules & Requirements

Thank you for your interest in the Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center's video contest for High School Juniors & Seniors!

Eligibility

dotHigh School Juniors and Seniors (Individual or group submissions)
dotVideo entry must be an original work
dotStudents may submit one entry per category

Objectives

1. Produce a video on one of the following:

dotImmigration
dotƒƒHuman Rights (including human trafficking)
dotƒƒEnvironment (water or climate change)

2. Incorporate at least one of the following perspectives in your video:

dotCatholic Social Teaching
dotSocial Justice
dotCatholic/Christian tradition

3. Create a dynamic video that shares what you have learned and inspires others to act for justice!

Technical Requirements

dotVideo must be 3-5 minutes in length, excluding titles frame & credits
dotTitle frame should indicate the title of the piece, the creators’ first names only, the school, city and state
dotCredits must appear at the end
dotEntrants must comply with the technical and all other requirements of youtube.com

Judging Process

A panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:

1. Meet the objectives listed - 15%
2. Clearly informs audience on selected issue and possibilities for action - 40%
3. Video Attributes: effective use of transitions/editing, titles, organization, good sound and visual quality within 3-5 minutes (excluding titles frame & credits) - 25%
4. Creativity: dynamic, engaging content; am I moved to act? - 20%

Winners

dotWinning videos will be posted on the IPJC website
dotWinning participants will receive prizes: $400 for 1st, $150 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd place.
dotVideos become property of the Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center

Video Submission Information:

Upload your video to youtube.com and notify Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center via e-mail of the url location. Include all the information from the entry form in the text of your e-mail.

All entries must be uploaded by March 30, 2012.

Agreement

By submitting entry form, participants agree that:

dotEntry is original work and does not contain copyrighted material
dotIPJC is entitled to free use of part or all of video entry as it sees fit
dotContent will not include anything contrary to Catholic Social Teaching
