IPJC announces the winners of our 1st Annual High School Just Video Contest.

Eligibility

dotHigh School Junior and Seniors (Individual or group submissions)
dotVideo entry must be an original work
dotStudents may submit one entry per category

Objectives

1. Produce a video on one of the following:

dotImmigration
dotHuman Trafficking
dotWater as a Human Right

2. Incorporate at least one of the following perspectives in your video:

dotCatholic Social Teaching
dotSocial Justice
dotCatholic/Christian tradition

3. Create a dynamic 4-6 minute video that shares what you have learned

 

Technical Requirements

dotTitle frame should indicate the title of the piece, the creators’ first names only, the school, city and state
dotCredits must appear at the end
dotEntrants must comply with the technical and all other requirements of youtube.com

Judging Process
A panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:

1. Meet the objectives listed
2. Clearly informs audience on selected issue and possibilities for action
3. Video Attributes: effective use of transitions/editing, titles, organization, and quality visuals within 4-6 minutes
4. Creativity: dynamic, engaging content
5. Audience Reaction: did you entertain, educate and inspire your audience?
6. Sound quality and delivery

Winners
Winning videos will be recognized on the Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center’s website.

dotWinning participants will receive $500 for 1st, $200 for 2nd and $100 for 3rd
dotVideos become property of the Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center

Video Submission Information:

Entries may be submitted two ways:

1. Mail the entry form and a copy of your video on a DVD clearly labeled with author(s), teacher, school, and all contact information. (DVD format must comply with the technical and all other requirements of youtube.com.)
2. Upload your video to youtube.com and notify Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center via e-mail (ipjc@ipjc.org) of the url. Include all the information from the entry form in the text of your e-mail.

All entries must be postmarked or uploaded by February 1, 2010.
