Socially Responsible Investing:
Conscience & Clout in the Marketplace

Would you like to make money from your investments and do good at the same time? In 1999, one out of every eight dollars under professional management in the United States was involved in socially and environmentally responsible investing.

The Northwest Coalition for Responsible Investment staff has developed
a presentation on Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) for individuals in parishes and groups who want to consider how their money can be invested in a way that is in keeping with their faith and their values.
The workshop includes:

  • The work of Socially Responsible Investing
           - screening
           - shareholder advocacy
           - community investing

  • The justice issues that we address with companies
           - genetic engineering
           - global warming
           - sweatshops and fair trade
           - HIV/AIDS in Africa
  • Practical ways in which you can invest in, and shop for, the common good

Timeframe: 1 1/2 to 2 Hours
