Suggestions for Reducing Your Carbon Footprint
More than 2,000 women (and a few good men) will be gathering in Bellevue for the Northwest Catholic Women's Convocation in May. Whether you are coming from the Seattle Metro area or a more distant locale, here are some suggestions for ways to decrease the carbon footprint of your travel to the Convocation.

Consider taking public transit. The Meydenbauer Center is located just one block from the Bellevue Transit Center. Sound Transit provides express bus service from Sea-Tac airport and Downtown Seattle.

Travel by train. Recent research shows that rail emits approximately half the carbon dioxide of cars and a quarter that of domestic air.

Book a nonstop flight to Seattle. As much as 50% of carbon emissions come from takeoff and landing.

Carpool. Share a ride and the Convocation experience with friends.

Drive the speed limit. You will increase fuel efficiency by up to 15% and reduce your carbon emissions.

Stay locally. IPJC has negotiated special rates for Convocation participants at the Sheraton Bellevue Hotel and Courtyard Marriott Downtown Bellevue. Both hotels are located near the Meydenbauer Center.
