Catholic Advocacy Day Information

Held yearly during the legislative session, Catholic Advocacy Day is your opportunity to meet with your Washington State legislators and advocate for just policies for the common good.

Catholic Advocacy Day is sponsored by Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center with support from Catholic Community Service and Washington State Catholic.  It involves prayer, a keynote presentation on Washington State’s financial structure, legislative briefing, and personal testimonies on how your advocacy makes a difference, before scheduled appointments with your local legislators.

We transport hundreds of advocates from all over western Washington representing most districts from Bellingham to Vancouver and Spokane.  An appointment for all constituents of each district is set up with each of their representatives. The issues discussed depend on the bills being considered but issues may include increased funding for affordable housing, human trafficking, care for creation and the death penalty.
